RECORDING TAB

NEED: It's one thing to order a note for note transcription from a recording - in this case you already have a recording to go by.  But with a new composition (even if "based" on a recording), you may need a tape to hear how the tab should sound.

EXPLANATION: Transcribing can be painstakingly slow, especially with the time spent in correspondence like this on a particular order.  So I spend enough time to listen to each note and write it out, then on to the next note.  I am not able to practice playing the tab as I write it out.

In order to play and record a piece coherently I have to take time to practice it, even with the tab to read from.  So I have to charge for that time as well.

PRICE: It usually takes roughly as long to make the recording as the transcribing process itself. So, if this service is ordered alone (if I did not write the tab being recorded), price is the same as the price for transcribing - $1.50 per measure or $2.00 for RUSH.

However, I want to offer this service to customers ordering custom-composed tab without doubling the cost of the order.  So for recording tab that I have written, I have cut that rate in half: 75 cents per measure and $1.00 for RUSH.

WHAT YOU GET: Each tab will played through twice:
 - 1. once through at a fairly slow pace, or, if need be, one measure at a time for ease of learning in small sections. Included here may be spoken narration as to which measures is being played and helpful tips for difficult or unusual phrases or fingerings. and . . .
 - 2. once through at faster speed fast enough to hear the overall flow of the tune, but not so fast as to make it difficult to hear individual notes and phrases.

Each recordings will be an MP3 file, tape, or CD, whatever you prefer. MP3's can be emailed directly to you, so this choice will get your recording to you faster.
